Porcelain and Ceramic Conservation

Porcelain and ceramics constitute some of the oldest most technicallyporcelain and ceramic restoration perfected forms of Fine Art. Unfortunately, they are also a fragile medium. Every day porcelain and ceramic objects ranging from family heirlooms to priceless museum pieces are chipped, cracked, or broken into many small pieces. Fortunately, advances in materials and techniques in the last 30 years enable professional repairs to blend perfectly with original surface. Missing pieces can be fabricated where necessary to exactly match the original in color sheen and texture. If a matching section is preserved on another section of the piece a mold can be made and an exact casting can be made.
