Have you ever wondered how to care for and preserve your family's cemetery monuments? With good intentions, some people may do more harm than good by using common household cleaners and abrasives. jmc.jpg (79295 bytes)

With today's renewed interest in family history and heirlooms, one important heirloom that is often overlooked, is the family cemetery monument. When you drive by or visit most cemeteries, you'll notice that the grounds are well kept and manicured. Unfortunately many of the monuments are in poor condition or disintegrating. The care and maintenance of the monuments is usually left to individual family members.

Family monuments need to be treated as historical works of art. Norton Arts has a background in the conservation and restoration of fine art. They have recently expanded their services to include the conservation of family cemetery monuments. A trained team of technicians is available to work on location to clean, repair, and preserve your family monuments. Kits are also available for the do it your selfer.

Wendel and Liz Norton, the owners of Norton Arts, Incorporated, founded their art conservation business in New York City. Seeing a need for conservation services in their native Arkansas, they returned to their home in the Ozark Mountains in 1994. Projects in New York have continued, as they have built a regional fine art conservation and restoration business.

Their mountain studio, overlooking the Buffalo River valley, provides the ideal setting for their fine art conservation services. Norton Arts restores historic paintings, sculpture, and porcelain. Unusual projects feature a 2500 year-old Egyptian sarcophagus and a unique Civil War artifact belonging to Robert E. Lee. Numerous works from public and private collections have been preserved for future generations. Museum methods and materials are used in all projects,
